I’ve actually been surprised by the ongoing response here - whether of the “Yes! We’re proud of the bubble we’ve created!” or of the “Screw those guys talking shit about us!” variety. I’d love if this site would just quit referencing Xitter.

I think terms like “death with dignity” (and “pro-life” or “pro-choice”) are chosen to try to sway the public vote. I agree that as the name of a now legal medical option, the value judgement should be removed. Hadn’t thought of it before

I was a medical student in the mid-90s and did an ID rotation with the HIV specialist. The standout memory is that nearly every patient was psychologically transitioning from knowing they were dying to now planning a future on a new antiretroviral cocktail. AZT was a necessary bridge for many.

My dog would rip a lamb chop toy to shreds in 10 seconds. The real dog toy story is the Chuck-it. They’re ubiquitous, only a couple bucks, and dogs frickin go nuts for them.

Forced apologies seem so strange to me, like hostage statements or red guard style renunciations. On the other hand, losing one’s job for advocating that in some places/situations a woman might reasonably wish not to have a male present - Kafka Twilight Zone! What a bizarre world we live in.
