The first two sentences hit hard like "Hello 911, I would like to report a burn victim."
In other words: cognitive and situated diversity is an epistemic tool for both democracy and political&moral theory.

I am constantly reminded to self-advertise more, do linkedin, post photos of events etc. I agree but forget & share articles I like.
After organizing a "Knowledge and Democracy" panel at the Estonian Annual Philosophy Conference with @miasmafactory.bsky.social & I. Cerovac, we discussed it again.

Reminds me of the approach to acknowledge negative thoughts and moods ("the old black cloud" or "Harry" or "thought no. 46") in order to look at them from the side, enabling to distance oneself.
The thoughts come sometimes, offer unnecessary thoughts, and will pass once again.
Anyway, good luck!

Dear rest of Europe,
🇺🇦 is keeping russia away from you.
If russia can, it will come closer to you. Would you like that?
Thought so. Let's act like it.
Best wishes,

"Access to accurate information is not a luxury, it is the foundation of our democracy" gets me more convinced that a pure procedural (non-epistemic) justification of democracy is not sufficient.
Appealed to these apparent epistemic values in an article:

Far-right as counter-knowledge order, showing how it really is, who to trust, words to use, combining authority and martyrhood. Answering how to orient in a digitalized overcomplex knowledge society where performing to know is expected of all.

Every now & then I visit FoxNews to understand in which informational space some Americans live.
The fox-reader would have to scroll through celebrity gossip and Trump propaganda to find out smth happened and read a fake balanced take that "Ukrainians blame russia" for it. Well it wasn´t Romania!

I only read the first sentence of Rousseau's "The Social Contract" and got so inspired I freed myself from the clock.
Now, I am always late to meetings, go to the grocery shop when it is closed, have estranged my friends and family, and have a weird sleep schedule.
Follow me for more life hacks!

Read "Florida man" and thought about the "Florida man attacking a pineapple tree by throwing alligators at it" type of news, and the scholarly pursuit to understand if the "Florida man" phenomenon has something to it, or just a memeable self-reproducing prejudice

Great essay & self-reflection about too much self-reflection on ones biases in our inevitably particular perception of the world, while in a saturated (mis)information environment where epistemic humility can become apathy.

Ps. East-West divide still going strong, 35 years after the fall of the Berlin wall.

3) russia decided to start a war to occupy a neighbor, grab resources, distract its own people from their self-generated miserable economic situation & lack of human rights.
If there'd be any will, it would be really easy to solve the problem of russia waging war. It is Russia to go back home.

I think we might not agree to which extent can the word "populism" mean the same thing in 19th century US where many people still non-enfranchised, in times of Russian Empire with anti-tsarist narodniki, and in 21th century representative democracy.
Had a caveat to limit the scope in the article.
