If you watch the video you can see the sails aren’t fully out. Looks like they’re in the process of being unfurled.

The ship was probably under motor getting ready to deploy sails when it cut out.

Don’t know how the lights are powered tho? Maybe batteries or auxiliary generator

It wasn’t under sail when it crashed. You need the engine to maneuver into port.

I don’t understand why the tug wasn’t lashed up tho. You can see it alongside in the video

I enjoy Rogue One. If it wasn’t Star Wars I would probably find it aggressively mid tho. Like if reskinned as say a WW2 movie, I’d probably rather watch Bridge on the River Kwai.

I’ll watch Return of the Jedi also though it has its silly moments.

You could also maybe make a student club with the mission of contributing to the restoration. That way you could more easily find roles for a wider array of skillsets.

You’d need a good faculty advisor then, preferably who has a relationship with whatever restoration team.

What you’d need to make it happen is:
A) Open minded university administrator(s) who see the value.
B) Leadership at the non-profit doing the restoration that actually wants to involve young people. They also have to want to actually educate and teach skills, not just use students for free labor.

But this is an ideal kind of collaboration for community colleges.

My district just bought a machine shop “maker space” type of venue for the use of students.

Physically yes.

The main obstacle I think would be figuring out how to award academic credit for it and get admin/curriculum people to approve. Unless the work was done as just one project as part of a class.

Once I suggested to my partner’s (from New Jersey) family that NJ should absorb Delaware. They don’t want it.
