I defended and am officially Dr. Travis Reyes! Grateful for the snow day to prepare and for the love and support from my husband, family, and professors who believed in me. Honored that my paper was selected as an exemplar for future students. Feeling thankful and excited for what’s next!

Reflecting on Anita Bryant’s passing and the harm her 1970s campaign caused by stripping gay people of fair housing and job protections. It puzzles me how religion is used to exclude when Jesus never spoke about gay people. In my Quaker faith, I’m valued, and the world needs love, not division.
