The 5 volumes of Song For Neil ( rush covers and Neil tributes) fills the Peart sized hole in my life after I have binged a few rush albums. (Also that I got both my teenage boys into Rush and they talk to me about all the gems they find).

Felt the same way cutting my teeth on the ps2 keyboard and mouse driver. Cutler threatened to have me fired me more than once. And every OEM adding weird custom stuff on a non extendible bus (looking at you Sony and IBM).

And this setting only disables S0 power management. The device tree will still power off on Sx and modern standby independent of this setting.

On the HC and root hub it will disable idle power management for all downstream devices. You can find the right upstream devices by changing the view to by connection in device manager. Maybe the mid stream hub has a power management toggle which limits the impact.

Did you try disabling idle power management (“allow windows to turn this device off”) on the upstream host controller and root hub device manager prop pages?

You pretty much nailed it. The WDM era from win98 through millennium/XP added to the fun, but thankfully it was only about adding .nt to the model section.
