I finished construction on the switch this evening. It’s not perfect for sure but I’m happy with it. Now I have to decide how pretty I can make it before the tree lighting tomorrow night #woodworking #diy

I made more progress yesterday on the giant switch project. Most of the parts are created, I’ve got a few more parts to make and then I need to find a warmer place to pain them. The high all week is 53 and that’s not going to work for painting. #woodworking #diy

This weekend’s project is a giant switch for the neighborhood Xmas tree lighting. I’m using the shipping crate plywood from last weekend. I’m not going quite as big as the inspiration but it will still be large. I’m embedding a remote outlet switch so it will turn on the tree #woodworking

Today was a demo and recovery day. In the summer I got some shipping crates off CL. The parts have been under the deck, tarped from the weather. Today I drug them out and went after them with a rubber mallet and pry bar. It’s not grade A ply but will do for jigs and shop furniture. #woodworking

Tonight I discovered by accident that the bottom of our air fryer will come off for easy cleaning. I’ve never been so happy to have some greasy and neglected thing to scrub! #cleaning #adulting

Finished what I’m calling a prototype nameplate holder for my son’s high school robotics team robot. I need to make another, maybe I can do two and fix the mistakes in this one. It was surprisingly difficult, I believe because of the reactively small size of the parts #woodworking

It’s been a bit busy here but last week i managed to finish assembling the workbench. I used mostly free materials (some 4x4s given away from a local freight company and a solid table top off Craigslist). Next are some drawers to go on the shelf and I’m leaning towards dog holes.

Today in the shed (or really just outside it as it was really warm inside it 😬): I finished an adjustable jig for the circular saw so I can cut thin pieces. Normally I’d use a table saw but I don’t have one 🤷🏻‍♂️
