She watched as her reflection was stolen. His hand set his glasses to the table, and monet fell to her knees. She bowed her head, she stared at the wings that hung from her shoulders. In revealing himself, he proved she was unworthy. In exposing himself, he proved she was still too covered. In seeing his eyes, she found that she could never reach him. "Oh, Monet." She lifted her head, She looked into his eyes and she found that she never once knew what he wanted. Doflamingo was quiet too, taking in the sight before him. His smile fell, gentle and soft on his lips. He exhaled, his hand lowering, his palm exposed, his beckon to her. "Monet," he repeated. He sighed her name like he owned her, like she could be something made for him. Monet sat back on her heels, scales rough and grating against the softness of her curves. She stared up at him and she knew his eyes were full of greed. As gentle as his voice was, his eyes tore the wings from her shoulders, the legs from her torso. Doflamingo pulled his glasses from his nose, rubbed the sore divots left in their place and Rosinante's hand rose instinctively. He wasn't sure when the habit started. Perhaps Rosinante mimicked their father who always shielded his eyes. From the sun, from the gold, from the slaves being beaten, from the humans being coupled at a Celestial's whim. His father always tried to hide the world from him. The man always wanted to keep him from seeing the world in its true colors. The reds of carmine and scarlet that painted over the vibrancy of the green grass and the blue sky. But that afternoon was overcast, dreary and the sun that did peek through the clouds couldn't reach him under the hide-outs overhanging roof. Doflamingo batted Rocinante’s hand aside. "Who taught you that? Protect your own vision if you're so concerned. Putting grease under your eye like a circus clown– You'll go blind long before I do." Rosinante side eyed him and his gaze paused for only a moment before he turned to instead pull a cigarette from his pocket with a smirk on his lips. He smoked and the smoke made Doflamingo's eyes burn, but it seemed frail to go back on his earlier comment and don his glasses again. So he let the tears pool in the crease of his eyes and he didn't say a thing because he had nothing to prove to Rosinante. Or maybe it was to prove something. Rosinante huffed a laugh and Doflamingo sucked his teeth. "Put it out." Rosinante did as he was told. He looked over at Doflamingo and he seemed in better spirits than he had been in some time. The last child that showed up ran off that morning. The portly thing fled crying after being lopped off this very boardwalk. Doflamingo wondered if that had anything to do with Rosinante's mood. "Oh!" Sanji laughs loudly, looking between the two. "You must be brothers!" Doflamingo laughs with him, his foot hitting Rosinante until he laughs too, confused as to why they're collectively laughing. "I stole the looks, he stole the charm." Doflamingo says, leaning back in his chair to look the boy over properly. "Sure" Sanji says with an audible Ha Ha' following it. Alright then.." he turns back towards the kitchen, measuring his steps until he's through the door and sprinting to find Zeff's office. Zeff frowns up at him when he grabs his cigarette from the desk, spinning to run towards the dumpster with a vague hreat that the next time he's caught the cigarette's getting flushed down the toilet. He exhales roughly, pacing in front of the dumpster. Fucking hell!" He shouts, his knees folding quickly to squat. They're brothers. Rosinante's not gay at all. Doflamingo looked him over. That put a foul taste in his mouth. His tongue dragged across his teeth to dispel it and Vergo's eyes followed the motion. "Your eyes don't belong to you anymore, Vergo.
