Many U.S. states had exactly this one county gets one seat design for their upper chamber until the Supreme Court's one-man-one-vote decision, which said if you weren't this way in the US Constitution (like the Senate) you couldn't do it. Even NYC had this in its Board of Estimate, now gone

It’s a commercial disguised as a safety instruction, and a good commercial at that. Apparently they actually paid an ad agency to do something with wit. Hard to hold that against them. Just ignore it after the first time. They’ll replace it eventually.

NYC has a long history of municipally constructed and owned markets (the vendors themselves were private businesses). See mailchi.mp/urbanarchive... My family shopped in one of these in the early '60s because its produce was superior to that available in our (cooperatively owned) supermarket

It's not uncommon for general aviation airports to be untowered, at least during certain hours, but probably rare for them to be demoted from towered to untowered.
