Oxalis massoniana. What a cheery orange flower. I hope the bulbs multiply quickly, a big dense mound would look so pretty

Lachenalia pusilla. Smells a bit like coconut. Small plant but a cutie. Pleasingly star-shaped and with pretty sun spots.

My beautiful Mammilaria plumosa was torn up by animals this summer, I thought it was dead. But after the rains it plumped up and I can see green under the fuzz

So intensely hairy it looks like it’s glowing

Never been a huge fan of Massonia, but I ended up with this hitchhiker in a group of Oxalis flava. It’s very attractive, stripes, pustules, and a red margin. NoID till it flowers.

Same plant, March 2024 to Nov 2025. Needs a bit more shelter from the summer sun but the pot is full of roots.

2nd year dioscorea is growing much robustly than I imagined and I only fertilized once. Might add on some more trellising.

Drimia maritima, sea squill.

I got the lil one in spring but wanted a spare. Found the big one at the Huntington and decided to treat myself, saves a few years of growth

One of two surviving Dioscorea elephantipes seedlings I sowed last year. Pretty tuber will stay buried one more year to grow big and strong. Timed this repot perfectly for it to exit dormancy.

Bulbs. Gladiolus uysiae and several lachenalia. Now I’m committed to seeing what flowers come up in a few months

Mystery pelargonium I got for cheap, but I finally have one with the dark stripe. Light “spice” scent from the flowers.

So many flowers. Soil could have been a little more water retentive.

Bought a pot of Lachenalia violacea v. glauca last year as they were going dormant and they have dutifully reflowered. Next year I will bump up the sun and fertilizer.

This pretty little Mangave ‘Bloodspot’ has been more compact since giving it more sun.
