Hard to know what happened. It’s possible she oversaw a process where she needed to respect a majority board decision.

Well if we can have two-day test matches I guess the same can apply to writers weeks.

That’s pretty much how it is now except it takes several years to do the calculation

I’ve been meaning to read this Rick. I’ve delayed a bit because I reckon it will just make me mad, and with everything going on in the world I need to meter my input. But good on you, and it’s time I bought it and made sure you had some royalties come your way to cover a croissant or two.

To me that poll isn’t very remarkable. Of course workers are going to say yes to that question. The amazing thing is it wasn’t 100% in favour. There needs to be more substance to this to describe how it works across various industries and make an evidence-based case for the productivity boost.

Standard penalty is 5 weeks assuming the offender self reports. Rankine didn’t report. He is an antagonist. The Adelaide football club badly misread this. And the AFL, so is on record saying the penalties will increase until this wiped from the game, look weak.

I disagree. I think the investment needs to be prudent but I think it can be a key opportunity in the city’s development. Brisbane has incredible natural assets to leverage and an engaged urban design sector.

New standards for flood Modelling published by Engineers Australia last year have not yet flowed through to flood maps. The impacts are devastating in many places.

Zali, I am pleased you’re taking about his. But $10b seems like a drop in the ocean given the scale of flooding increases predicted in the latest update to Australian Rainfall and Runoff. We need to be careful about throwing public money at ‘protecting’ houses that are in deep water.

Thank you for this considered piece. I’m appalled by this decision, and your article provides some solid facts that help me better articulate the lunacy of this decision.

Thank you - and I am looking forward to the next phase!

If anyone hasn’t listened to it, I highly recommend listening to Adam Brandt’s interview on the Money Money Money podcast. It’s one of the most popular financial/personal wealth podcasts in Australia. He wins over self described ‘capitalist pig’ host Glen James. It’s inspiring stuff.

It just keeps getting better. Adding weight to a sinking ship.
