Exactly that's the beauty of Linux, its unlimited customisation.

I would go with Mint, everything will seem familiar. With Ubuntu your taskbar is at the top and a Dock on the left. Most people do not like that.

If you are new to Linux and want something that works similar to Windows and is very stable. Linux Mint. Many people will promote the Distro they are using even though its not the best for a new user.

They went way to far left, people could not relate to what they were selling. So they voted for someone that spoke on the issues that were concerning them.

Who cares LOL There are plenty of browsers and they are plenty good. FireFox, Librewolf, Waterfox, Florp, Palemoon, Zen Browser, Sea Monkey, Ice Weasel, Ice Cat, Midori ...Total privacy, but slow-Mulvad and Tor.
