The AHA’s annual summer reading challenge is here!

I'm going to start by reading a book that's been on my shelf for too long. I ordered @juliehardwick.bsky.social's Sex in an Old Regime City when it came out and am excited to finally finish it.

Unlike the rest of my family, I quite decidedly do NOT have a green thumb. But hope springs eternal, and every year I get more seeds and try again. Last year I succeeded in growing lots of peppers, so I'm more optimistic for this year! #gardening

After getting this delightful pen stand for Christmas, I've been switching between my fountain pens more often than usual, and it's really been such a treat!
In the center of the photo is a light wooden pen rack (shaped like a wine rack so that the pens lay on their side) with 8 slots. The bottom one is empty. The next two are both Narwhal Schuylkills. One is made of sparkly orange and pink swirled resin, the other with mint green and white swirled resin. Above it is a TWSBI 580ALR in Prussian Blue, then an Edison Beaumont in Fireball. Next is a Sailor Pro Gear Slim Dragon Palace (light jade/mint/turquoise with gold sparkles). The top two are small Japanese pocket pens, a Pilot E95S in burgundy and ivory and a vintage pocket Sailor in black and silver. To the left of the stand is a mug shaped like a white cat sitting on a red ball of yarn. Many pens are sticking out of the cup. In the top left corner is part of a bulletin board with pins of an ink bottle and fountain pen, both with the pride flag on them.

Two pieces of almost identical knitting are next to each other. Both are made of a dark green heathered wool (Cascade 220) and feature mirrored cables.

A few people I know got tea advent calendars last year, and it really inspired me to do the same, and Vahdam Tea is really pulling through with their choices - and with their design aesthetics! #advent #tea

While it's hard to pick a favorite, my Edison Beaumont is the only pen I've ever always kept inked - for almost 3 years now!

I've replaced the standard nib with a Franklin-Christoph EF SIG nib and an ebonite feed. It lives in this delightful bee pen sleeve.
A bright red fountain pen with swirls of different shades of red which at times sparkle gold. The pen is uncapped and laying onto of the cap, which is made of the same material and has a silver clip with a ball at the end. The nib of the pen rests on a Rickshaw and Retro 51 pen sleeve with a honeycomb and bee pattern.

You'd really think that by this point in my life, I would have learned not to start a new novel right before bed.

Favorite category is fountain pens, but it'd be too hard to narrow it down to a single pen!
Otherwise, these very small Rhodia pocket notebooks (mechanical pencil for scale) that actually fit in women's pockets. They're increasingly hard to find in US so I bought DOZENS on my last trip to France
