reading back entries of the dream journal, there was a drawing from me a few years ago that looked something like this, i assume it was the first "face" ive seen in a dream in a while

long piece! almost an hour!
very relaxing drone that swells beautifully near the halfway point, i had my volume circa the double of my usual to properly hear every detail of the sound, and the huge increase in intensity gave me a bit of a scare

heaviest tracks yet, something about the tone of the guitar is so, off, its like very VERY, full? its hard to explain, the tone of the guitar has this octave-y feel to it which makes it just so, BIG and ENCUMBERING, this release made me think atlas letting the world fall and break in pieces.

i wanted to talk about this one in particular. its a bunch of jazz tracks, with some tasteful edits, with some added drums at points, some field recording tracks, its just a lovely listen.
i have this one downloaded, listen to it every few days
i suggest you do the same, its completely free.

this album is actually really interesting, its very cohesive and feels like one long track, and its name "Entropy" fits it like a glove.
also i have to note the art, something about it is also very, accurate. i could find this in a modern digital museum and not be surprised its named Entropy

first album release! the first track makes a guest appearence in hakita's latest album "Tennis, Everyone?" too!
ill divide the album releases in smaller reviews, with a total overview of the album in the main post, this is an exception. i wont review the second track.
listen to it yourself.

its just, so non-aggressive, its uneasy, has a bit of emotional parts here and there, the noise adds to the title imo, "There Was Nothing We Could've Done" gives me a feeling of "we tried recovering the memory" but the effort produced this glitchy recording
simple and beautiful

and here is the landing, utterly alien and otherwordly
the progression in this track alone is actually fucking amazing
its somehow both caressing and brutal
i find it hard to actually describe these
007 008 and 009 are releases that you need to LISTEN to. do yourself a favor

008 redherring. henceforth shortened to "rh."
this feels a bit both like a continuation of the previous release
this drone is Grand and Great, infinitely dense yet finite, somehow
it has some of my favorite 30 mins of music, fades out real fast

007 redherring.
beautiful organ followed by piano and spoken word that to me, fits a vision of a shuttle launching, then slowing down and drifting in space, while the crew recollect their memories of the journey to get there.
then the organ returns, it's so grandiose and disheartening
and it fades.

this release is without form, without description, without life.

its amazingly unsettling, if you want something to completely fuck you up for 40 mins or so this is what you want

the line "A Pocketful of Flowers at My Grave" is
devastatingly sad
pocketful, an insignificant amount, it carries the remembrance still
but i see a single family member struggling to even afford the time or money for flowers
listening to it is a must imo, its just so heavy for me.

004 redherring.
havent listened to this in years and i thought that it was a drone metal release that is in your face drowning you in reverb and feedback, while there is reverb, its much more focused on the high end. this to me brings a more awe than some tracks/albums that bring fear of the huge
August 24, 2025 at 2:51 PM
003 redherring.
this release i cannot describe how it feels, i can lay out the sounds as words on a screen but i cannot replace listening to it. The Machine Is Bleeding to Death, parts breaking down and laying scattered on the earth. this is what death is: abstract to the corpse, grim to the others.

thanks miku for the amazing drones
while the successor has a more polished feel to it i find the older sibling still very nicely done. it truly is best experienced when late and tired
the difference in cover art is also very much appreciated

piranesi foreshadowing !!
August 24, 2025 at 2:50 PM
001 redherring.
two-parter atmospheric/rhythmic release
the first part feels, encumbered, difficult, slow, enormous. the name and cover art here is very explicit on the possible theme of the album, a colossus, cleansing the world
though here its not yet cleansing, its waking up, preparing, planning.
August 24, 2025 at 2:49 PM
realized that in my old posts i never finished The Trilogy
The Glowing Man, YUP I WILL SAY THE MAN IS GLOWING.
its quite an experience, its what to me feels like the most funky/jazz-y(not quite but yk) out of the three.
something about the world looks black makes me just MOVE, its so good.
