I’ve gotten into the habit of going through my photos from that date (all of December 23 on December 23, for example) and deleting any lousy photos, duplicates, or ones with no meaning to me anymore. The amount of screenshots alone is shocking. I highly recommend it. It’s quite cathartic.

Update: Saw a pair of bald eagles and a pair of red-tailed hawks fishing the lake today. Truck needs a replacement part installed after all, here until Friday at the earliest now.

The pure ridiculousness that is mining/construction equipment. These are tires. Only three of them could be wedged inside a standard shipping container.

My nephew has sent us regular updates about The Boy’s cat for nearly two years. Here is the pirate begging for second dinner, as he does each evening. Clearly he’s skin and bones.

Estimate has the truck repairs complete as of 12/22. Trailer and we have moved to a campground until then. Now we move hard into Making the best of our time here.

We made an appt for a tow truck to move the trailer to a local campground on Monday. Driver called back 2 minutes later and offered to ferry us to the grocery store etc in the meantime. No charge. Probably the kindest thing that I can remember in a while. Total stranger. Nothing in it for him. 🧡

Someone just ran a red light and T-boned the truck. Lots of damage. Possibly totaled. Trailer is in a hotel parking lot, where we’re staying until Monday at least when it can get into a repair shop

About a half mile into our National Forest hike, we remembered that it was hunting season. Made double time getting back out of there. Fear + speed = cardio goal hit for the day

Doing a long drive today which often means a restaurant breakfast. “Apologies, but everything is taking longer than normal because the kitchen is severely understaffed and we have no table clearing staff today.” Gee, I wonder why that could be.

First really touristy tourist thing we’ve done is a Kentucky Bourbon tour and tasting. Might be a little lighter in the head than usual. Waiting on the stomach to come. Worth it.
