i seem to have incredible ant luck, a female alate polyrhachis australis landed on me yesterday! I currently have my ant farm equipment packed away so I wasn't able to keep her even if she had removed her wings on me :( I put her somewhere safe to continue her search for a male

Also found my jet black ant queen, will be sending her in for formal identification. Really sad she didn't make it through the winter but without an established brood to parasite she was pretty much doomed, rip little miss antly, will miss your morning window soup and 1 singular long butthair

I think those ants are Lasius Fuliginosus, Or the Jet Black Ant.
mostly from what i could make out is the squarish head and glossy exoskeleton. (apologies if you didnt want an id on them, i just really like ants :D)
