They're all really fun reads and Ogres was by far my favourite. I don't know if walking to Aldebaran fits into the Terrible Worlds series but that was also fantastic.

You cannot govern without the consent of the governed and you cannot police without the consent of the policed.

That debt was accrued deliberately by the companies who owned our water and none of it was to fund better services. Water is one of the absolute stand-out failures of privatisation.

Why has he used AI to generate a picture of himself holding a sign? Did he not think that maybe he could just take a picture of himself holding a sign?

Why should the child be punished? They didn't choose to be born.

I've updated the classic quote "It's not just the economy, stupid!"

Houses are worth whatever buyers are willing to pay for them. Could this one finally be London's Dutch Tulip moment?

There needs to be a realistic assessment of "pull" and "push" factors. We also need to open safe routes. It's similar to the drugs debate, a lot of the problem is that the supply is only available illegally.

Huge amounts of respect Alom for managing to write alongside teaching!

I remember making this complaint about the coalition government. It was just power for power's sake. There was really no vision for the country apart from to spend less money.

The problem is people view the BBC as almost exclusively BBC news.

Ridcully would accuse him. Vetinary would raise an eyebrow. Ridcully would blusteringly retract the accusation.

eBay has become a market place for large sellers. Try something that's still more peer to peer like vinted. (I was genuinely confused about whether to capitalise the e at the start of eBay given it started the sentence).

Can't say I know much about the Berlingo in particular. You'll get less range in colder weather unless your car has a heat pump. I commute about 60-70 miles a day with no issues.

Yep Sam's right, they basically warranty the battery for the expected life of the car
November 7, 2025 at 8:34 PM
That's ridiculous. I get 240 out of an advertised 270 after 750000 miles. New Mercedes can get 400+ miles.

There has been a huge transfer of wealth, since the 1980s, from the many to the few. Policy changes caused this. Policy changes can reverse it.
