Definitely! I got it purposefully done as lineart so you could interpret it as one of two birds, a skylark or a dove. The dove being the sacred animal of Sarenrae too.

@outeremissary.bsky.social sorry for the random @, but since you're the biggest PFKM Tristian fan on this app that I know of—thought you'd appreciate this.

Same! The world map of Kingmaker gives such cozy vibes, genuinely one of my favourite parts of the game from a design perspective. Owlcat nailed the feeling of it.

Another two I enjoy are the opening areas on Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Even if going through them gets a bit tedious on replays, it's a fun experience on your first run and great entry into both!

Yeah! I love DOS2's opening because of how oddly cozy and welcoming the ship feels, though that may be because of my restartitis. I really like how it sets up the tone of the game and introduces characters.

Mm, the classic tutorial area is nice. I think it's how the narrative shifts that draws me!

For my second favourite, I have to say Divinity: Original Sin 2. I really enjoyed being thrown into the deep end, but in such a way you enter during a calm point—giving you a lot of context and vibe of the world.

Then everything going wrong, of course. Then thrown into a deceptively peaceful area.

Hmm, it's hard to say for me because I have two radically different favourites for openings...

For the first one, I'd say Baldur's Gate 1! The opening is a bit linear in the sense of the tutorial area, but there's something about it.

The calm before the storm sorta vibe, y'know? (1/2)

Fair enough, best of luck with it!

Not a follower as of posting this, but if you're struggling to get people and don't mind teaching a newbie—I'd love to take part.

Not exactly TTRPG, but the Divinity: Original Sin 2 CRPG incorporated this! It's one of my favourite details of that game. If I recall offhand you can have a tambour, oud, cello and flute.

(P.S. for DMs who want to try the leitmotif idea, the DOS2 soundtrack is a good place to pull from for that!)

I've gotten up to the surface, where I'm pausing to play Through the Ashes—I wanna try to play this game chronologically. Rolled up a modded Half-Orc Paladin for that!

Middle of the day here, just getting back from an appointment and some impulse purchases for miniature painting.

I'd recommend it! The second game is well worth it despite it being set in the same few areas. Rip to your original game file though!

I wouldn't say that, Daggerfall skeletons sound absolutely horrifying too 😅

True, I'm a big fan of Original Sin 2 though I've never gotten through Arx.

Baldur's Gate 3 was doubtless an instant classic, especially with how it brought back the spotlight onto classic styled RPGs.
