I felt I in Whitehorse. My house is wood frame and post/beam with concrete slab foundation. I was standing in the house and I could feel the slab moving back and forth under feet. The sensation was very strange. The house seemed to jiggle like jello above in slow motion. 15-20 seconds.

Yukon is west of Haida Gwaii and we consistently elect Liberals here ….

Hi from Whitehorse, Skagway friends. 👍

I live in Yukon. I’m an electrical engineer. EVs work just fine here. What you described does not happen.

EVs work just fine in Yukon. That only happens in your imagination.

Thank you Dr. Fisman from the other side of the country in Yukon. You helped guide my wife and I through those years. We saw the smear for what it was.

🙋‍♂️ oooh oooh. I know the answer!

As soon as I heard the name, I remembered. Not only lacks integrity but he is hyper-partisan.

Carney did not suggest that he has Harper’s endorsement. Sounds like Dimitri Soudas is confirming that Harper offered Carney the FM position. This article alleges there is a more ‘whole story’ and then proceeds to say nothing about the ‘whole story’.

Well, PP’s shadow minister of finance Jasraj Singh
Hallan has an accounting diploma from SAIT so watch out !

CBC has complained that Carney won’t come on their shows and doesn’t share enough details on his policy plans. Now here’s Rosie not listening to his articulate answers, holding her breath with visible disdain and interrupting with what she thinks are zingers for the highlight reels.

Agree that there are some great ministers remaining, but also some real duds still hanging on. There are many great things to like about Carney himself, though.
February 15, 2025 at 9:10 PM
It was very good. It would be a terrible mistake for Canada to not give Carney the opportunity. The contrast with Polievre is stark.

Europe will be ramping up spending fast and they have a mature arms industry. Maybe there will be opportunities for more partnerships that could be more inclusive of Canadian industry.

Mark said approximately 80% of our military capital spending directly benefits the US. Unfortunately, only 18.6% of our overall defense budget goes to major equipment procurements so the real number is less than 15%. I agree in principle, though.
February 14, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Yes. It’s a big deal for Canada’s economy. We see all the US media over here. It’s not useful at all, IMO. That’s where Bluesky and Substack helps.

Hi. I’m one of your neighbors in Whitehorse. I’m watching CBC today as well, but not always impressed with their thin coverage. They are $ stressed like most legacy media… Perspective among Canadians who are paying attention is grim. Not feeling great over here…

I do agree in hindsight that the 100% tariff Canada imposed on Chinese EVs was an unreciprocated gesture of solidarity with an untrustworthy partner with whom we naively believed we had a mutually beneficial free trade agreement.
February 1, 2025 at 6:40 PM
I just realized that you may commenting from the UK. This is my Canadian perspective.
February 1, 2025 at 6:33 PM
… IMO we have conditions to ‘invite’ Chinese firms in to help us in exchange for market access, while retaining ultimate control of our own industry. We should expect more that just cheap tariff free EVs built elsewhere.
February 1, 2025 at 6:25 PM
US auto makers taught Chinese firms how to build cars. To facilitate this, China incubated partnerships with US auto makers in which the Chinese retained control. The Chinese firms leaned quickly and have surpassed their mentors. If Canadian auto industry is threatened with extinction by tariffs….
