Feeling a deep sense of overwhelm and existential dread. There's still beauty in little things and small moments of kindness and openness.

Wonky box is offering meat now. My brain is reading it as expensive so I haven't signed up for it but is an option.

I think Ōtepoti wins Halloween 🤡👀😱

I'm sorry for the length of this hard time for you both and I hope the peace is coming soon.

You pop into my mind in a nebulous way when I look at your paintings - they give me pleasure and I appreciate you for that.

This one sympathises.

I've had two pretty well faked phishing emails from 'the IRD' in two days. Why are people jerks?

phishing.ird.govt.nz is a handy email address.

Opening act for Otago Polyfest, Portobello School 😍

If you're in Ōtepoti this week with some time to spare, it's a $2 entry fee and a great time.

Might not be what you're after but my friend's family has been discussing which penguin species they identify with and they invited me into the discussion.

It's very accurate when you check the pictures. #TeamRockhopper

Do we think I can figure out how to do a floorboard patch? I have some pine t&g and a handsaw - what could go wrong?

What a stash! The best Whittaker's flavour, cards to trounce my boys with, seeds 😍😍😍, this beautiful book I nearly bought 2 weeks ago and the softest cloud you can imagine! And a donation to @goodbitchesbake.bsky.social - too much kindness thank you 🙏

I think it has arrived? I'm not expecting any other parcels (that I remember...) but haven't had a notification that it was on it's way - to open or not to open 😱👀

This is why I stopped mowing my lawns...

FIVE korimako discussing important matters at the top of their voices in this tree. 😍

There are more across the road in an equally wild garden. A few years ago I was lucky to see one in passing.

One of my jobs released an extremely amazing project today. It has been my baby for nearly a year and releasing it to the world is as nervewracking as letting my actual children go.

I stopped mowing my lawns pre-pandemic and have a garden full of birds and bugs. But also there is an inner city apartment in my near future.

I have an elderly cat and some fish with great personality. I am also mother to two lovely men in their 20s.

This dear little friend took herself off to her big sleep today after a few uncomfortable days. Little creatures are so trusting and it's a bit shit when you can't make them feel better.

This beautiful tree is full of happy bees, both bumble and regular. It also has tūī and korimako zooming in and out of it.

It's one of two at the front of my section that were a house-warming present from my parents 13 (14?) years ago. My sister had grown them from seed.

This Rarotongan rupe had very perfect white eyeliner and was extremely greedy with these berries. The bulge was visible almost all the way to its tummy.

If you see this, post a bird.

Not a beautiful photo but I'm quite proud of these little friends.

Wrapping dumplings is meditative - lots of time to think about how food is so similar and so different across cultures. And also delicious.

More beautiful toi Māori to be celebrated in Ōtepoti this weekend - these are 10 of the 201 drones that will be telling a Kāi Tahu story on Saturday night. NZ Science Festival has been working on this for 2 years....

I made this 3 or 4 years ago and then an NZ Secret Santa sent me the most amazing box of treats to add to it.
