Arcane is top 10 anything of all time for me.

And even if one picks a book out of all they have read, it's a comparative masterpiece. The book may not be good on its own but compared to all the things that person has read, it may very well be a subjective masterpiece.

It's an anecdote but my friend can't pick one fav books cause he just reads WebNovels be it EN, CN, KR, JP. He can't pick a fav cause all have been pandered to him.

Manga or Anime*

But that's the thing. The novel is pretty decent. It's not bad. The manga and anime is fosho but I don't think you like Overlord for its Manga or LN.

I agree that each work you like doesn't have to be Masterpieces but generally people won't like badly written books until they are smut.
