Is Stromile Swift the greatest player name in Grizzlies history?

I hate to be negative when the team is starting to look decent but I can't help but think about the Ja situation. Is there really a scenario where things don't get messy? He's done nothing to make you feel okay about an extension, and the trade market is a salary dump. Will FO offer a bad contract?

How are you coping with the realization he is our best player now?

We love to put all of our worst players on the floor at the same time

I get it, and I like Cam a lot, but he seems to get bodied fairly easily by any decent defender

Was there a noticeable specific play?

It really would be nice for the actual basketball to at least be interesting, if not fun.

Where is the nickname discussion? We've got to get this started.

Why is this so hard for them? It really isn't that complicated...

Certainly an interesting and thoughtful response that I appreciate. But is it galaxy brain overthinking or are they actually going to find a competitive advantage? That advantage somehow has to overcome talent disparities (on the roster and on the court) in a league that is all about talent.

And I thought he was being mature this year... Focused on playing a lot of games. It's just a shame for him and everyone that roots for him that he can't get out of his own way. Coach probably told him to take some responsibility for a bad game like any "superstar" should. Not a chance for Ja.

I take that back. Do we really give him credit for playing in a game that Cam Spencer was clearly better in?
November 1, 2025 at 4:51 AM
Are you writing the "Ja played more than 5 games in a row article"? Or do we wait until 10 games?
November 1, 2025 at 2:56 AM
Follow up on the bigs question...why is this front office seem so reluctant to prioritize size, across all positions, not just at the 5. This has been a multi year thing.

A lot of projections have the grizzlies in the 6-10 range. Do we think that factors in a normal Ja availability (50 or less games) or an extra healthy Ja (65+) ?
July 28, 2025 at 5:55 PM
What's the most realistic best case scenario that would lead this front office to be aggressive in team building over the next year? Can this roster win more than 45 games? Is that good enough to push in more chips rather than just keep playing the long game?
July 28, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Why is this so much better than tanking but also super depressing
June 24, 2025 at 3:14 AM
So I guess the (conspiracy?) theory is they feel like their hands are tied with Ja so just pretending they can build around him until they can't and be ready to pull the trigger on the rebuild
June 17, 2025 at 1:26 PM
Yeahhh.... since the end of season media session, I've always found the double down on a guy who is completely unreliable to be odd (I don't think ZK is stupid). I know they can't trade Ja for obvious non-basketball reasons but..maybe orient your team around your super reliable all NBA level talent?

Jaren contract situation makes it interesting. Can't tank until you resign him or he's gone. I guess worst case we're in a 2 year no man's land until they blow it up. My theory is they're letting Ja's availability/durability over the next year decide for them.
