And Eijirou will never admit to being jealous of the oxygen that freely gets to be breathed by his Katsuki. A spit trail stills connected them. "I love you." It was said desperately. Like he needed to say it out loud. Like he didn't care if it was simply fact. Because both of them know facts were only acknowledged if they are spoken aloud.

Themes like love, guilt, and longing often show up in the language of faith and it's quite interesting to see what you can do with them. Excerpt from "Sanctified Want": I never said I loved him. Not out loud. Not where God could hear it. But I meant it with every glance l held too long, every shoulder-brush that left guilt blooming under my skin, every silence where my mind drowned in unnatural wanting | couldn't name. I begged-not to be loved back, but to be cleansed. To wake up holy. To wake up normal. And still, every time he laughed, I felt something inside me kneel. Something that didn't fit in the things they taught us. So l stayed quiet. Tried to starve it. Tried to bury him beneath good intentions and prayers that never made it past the ceiling. Maybe that's the worst kind of blasphemy - not loving a boy like a sin but loving him like a prayer and believing for one quiet moment that someone holy might answer back.

My favourite thing about KiriBaku is the way they blur the boundaries between friendship and romance, and the slumber party theme of this zine fits that perfectly <3 Excerpt from "Other half": Katsuki must've been too obvious, because one night his best friend spoke the words he'd been agonizing over since the beginning of the school year. They were in the dark, huddled against each other in the bed that was clearly meant for just one person. "Do you think," Kirishima whispered, like that'd make the words less powerful. "Do you think our marks could be romantic?" Katsuki didn't hesitate. "I'm sure they aren't." "Okay." And just like that, Kirishima's breaths evened out and he fell asleep still curled around Katsuki.

I love getting into the mind of characters I come across and bringing them to life. And well - I'm also STUPIDLY KiriBaku-pilled. Socials garnetdynariot on X / Bluesky; transmascofa on AO3. too tongue-tied His chopsticks clink loudly inside the bowl and he jolts out of his relaxed state. Kirishima pauses his story. "Guess it was that good. huh?" he says, delighted, making Bakugou huff. "It was alright," he retorts, knowing his words aren't believable. He moves to pick it up, but Kirishima beats him to it. "I got it." Bakugou frowns. "I can pick up one damn dish, Eijirou," he argues. It's the least he could do after failing to cook as promised. Kirishima waves him off and stands. "I know you, Katsuki. The second you see all the stuff piled in the sink, you'll go straight to washing." He gestures to the living area. "Go pick a movie for us, yeah? Night's still young after all."

Kirishima lets out a weak chuckle, fingers tightening around the pillow still clutched to his chest like it could somehow protect him from the rapidly escalating crisis unfolding in real-time.
