Had to do a pool rescue again this morning. We do have a float for wildlife to land on and exit on their own, but I think this little guy was too small to get onto the float, so I’ll have to do some research on stuff that works for even teeny tiny critters.

Okay so frosting things is NOT my strongest skill but this Bundt cake turned out SO tasty.
(Also our cake stand becomes a chip/dip bowl which is neat)

This is Créme Fraîche. He is obsessed with watching TV, especially Sesame Street. Unfortunately, he is not allowed to watch Sesame Street unless he eats breakfast first. This may seem like an evil rule but he literally *will not eat* if the TV is on because he wants to watch TV instead.

It’s a great way to literature (something quick to kill time) into the hands of people who just want something fast to read. Each one has a little bio at the bottom for the authors and, equally important, a QR code to get a Houston Public Library card. 🧵

And they’re LONG, too. My library keyring for scale. The stories are “The Show Must Go on” by EJ Delaney (kids), “You Would Never Believe It” by Freya Morris (teens), and “Seeing” by Mathina Calliope (adults). I’m not sure if it prints the same story each time, but this is such a cool idea—

Outside of the kids’ play area at Hobby airport, I discovered this machine. A short story dispenser! Curiosity got the best of me and I had to see it in action—check the next post for that! 🧵

I have seen BookLink machines around town before but wasn’t really sure what they were and I was surprised to see one at Hobby airport. You can reserve *any* book in the HPL system and have it delivered to this machine and pick it up before your flight (and drop it off, too!)—that’s SO COOL!! 🧵

Last night, there was a tree frog in my house and you would think that a tree frog wouldn't last long in my house, given that I have two cats.
Apparently, Créme Fraîche is *terrified* of frogs. The poor creature sat there SHRIEKING at this tree frog on the floor until I got it outside.

We are trying hard to play the game, but we keep getting distracted by how dapper bourbon the cat looks in this bandana. In the midst of an emotional scene, this cat will pop up and we will all LOSE OUR MINDS over him.

Went and picked up one of my birthday gifts yesterday—my very own blackberry bush! It’ll take about a year before it starts growing berries, but I’m still really excited about it.
