www.axios.com/2025/03/12/t... Massie, Paul and McConnell stand up as independent actors who swore to defend the Constitution "against all enemies, foreign and domestic." Trump, who swore an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, violates it and the Pledge of Allegiance every day.

“We had always been able to assure our readers that no one restricted what we could write.… What was the meaning of ‘personal liberties and free markets?’ Without further clarification, we were like dogs that had been fitted with shock collars but had no clue where the invisible fence was situated.”
“Here is the unavoidable truth: the Washington Post I joined, the one I came to love, is not the Washington Post I left.” @ruthmarcus.bsky.social writes about her decision to resign from the paper in the wake of editorial changes made by its owner, Jeff Bezos.

Utterly shameful, disgusting, and so depressing.
Typical bully behavior by FOTUS with Zelensky. Could we please make America NOT so embarrassing. The behavior from our president was out of line and pathetic.

Jon Meacham is on with Stephanie Ruhle, who in asking him about the National Archives described it as a rather boring, independent agency that is probably Disneyland to him.

‘It’s Yesterdayland!” He replied with a twinkle in his eye.

You always have to enjoy those little moments these days.

When struggling with the world of politics, I find comfort in reading Jon Meacham, who writes presidential biographies with deep nuance and measured perspective. Last time around, I read The Soul of America. I've recently finished And There Was Light and found it enlightening. Highly recommend.

I'm reading Bishop Budde's book, an important and timely read. She shares her lifelong journey of preparation, showing that stepping up is never easy but always necessary. A book for this moment.
