The club was in a mess? We were 6th in the league when you took over pal. We were 20th by the time you got fired.

In the last 30 hours or so we’ve gone from Heidelberg to Zurich, stayed in Zurich for 5 hours, caught an overnight train to Utrecht, got a train from there to Rotterdam, got a metro up to the beach at Hoek van Holland, came back to central Rotterdam.

Crazy.

Managed to find my way to the village knees up in Hofsgrund in the Black Forest and there was no way I was going to pass up currywurst mit pommes with a pils…

We’re in Hofsgrund in the Black Forest after going from Basel to Freiburg to Kirchzarten and then the bus to Hofsgrund. It’s belting down.

Today we visited Basel.
It’s ok. There was a nice park for the kids and some reasonable architecture. A lovely gelateria as well which we appreciated more after my son stopped screaming for 2 scoops.

We hit Lucerne today - there are some nice views and a bridge at an odd angle.

We had a pleasant 3 hour trip on the TGV from Paris to Basel and we’ve now made it to our apartment just up the road in St Louis. It’s raining pretty hard.

A good first couple of days holiday which involved a big arch and a big tower.

Thinking about next years holiday already. Any advance tips for Euro train travel with two kids greatly appreciated and some good destinations also maybe other than the obvious ones.
