Speaker highlight! @historyisfun24.bsky.social has a brilliant cross curricular session focused on teaching of the Holocaust and showing off their ecological environmentally friendly garden! @ttradioofficial.bsky.social

That time of year again, to remind Yr11 to take different types of pens into the exam. Grips, no grips, wide, narrow, rounded, triangular. Helps with hand cramp.

Really looking forward to it too, and talking about all things extra curricular to enhance your curriculum.
Like Ian, I’m really looking forward to the HA conference in Liverpool in May!
Great to see HA conference programme now available for May 9/10 in Liverpool. I'm delighted to see that Michael Riley is delivering the keynote education lecture on 'Why teaching about the historic environment matters more than ever'

Year 11 after school intervention timetable starts next week. Made the move to #OCRBHistory last year so don’t yet have a stash of intervention material. If anyone has any intervention/ revision booklets & resources for Making of America they would be willing to share I’d be really grateful

An inspiring and powerful read for anyone in education. On results day it’s important to keep things in perspective and remember what makes a difference. It’s not all about grades. You have an impact on young people’s lives in so many ways. Teaching is so much more than grades.

After 20+yrs as a HOD. Don’t spend hrs analysing results. Next yr is a different cohort with different strengths & weaknesses & a different paper. You’ll get lost down a rabbit hole taking a v.micro approach. Look for general trends. Read examiners report carefully, use this for improvement plans.

After 20years+ as a HOD. Results are never as bad as you 1st think, rarely as good as you hoped or FFT suggested. They will naturally fluctuate yr to yr. Don’t beat yourself up about them, You’ll have done all you can, but there are a range of factors involved which you have no control over.
