Restoring this door frame from 1600 laters of paint to bare wood takes time and patience, but it's finally ready for sanding and staining. Yes, I'm tearing up work and home this week!

Follow South Jersey just wrote an article on the Lafayette Quilt done by local Salem seamstress Arabella Chattin (see link below). The quilt is able to be seen in person at Salem County Historical Society until the end of March 2025.

On another note, if you know how to read script the National Archives could use your help transcribing documents because it’s apparently a skill that is going away since we don’t rely on handwriting much in the modern day.

This past week, I began removing an exhibit in order to build out a new one featuring the 250th Anniversary of the Revolution set to open October 2025. I can not wait to tell the history of Salem County through this lens. Look for updates throughout the year at Salem County Historical Society!
