Today brings the annual meeting of the Social History of Medicine editorial board and OUP. Just flipping through the big dictionary with lots of tiny print. A throwback to when you couldn't consult the full version regularly unless you were at the library. I use the digital version almost daily...
Brick building with glass at the top. Reads Oxford University Press. Gigantic book with very tiny print. Each page fits the equivalent of 9 pages (I think). So many words!

No lunchtime walk today, but my walk onto @universityofessex.bsky.social campus this morning was lovely. Monet-esque poppies, waving daisies, whispering poplars and chatty jackdaws.

A gorgeous day for a lunchtime walk by the river. Butterflies, birdsong, and cow parsley, amid the heavy scent of brambles and hawthorn blossom.
Meandering river, blue sky, green river banks with one side in shadow and the other in sun. White and yellow flowers on the river bank, with many green trees on the other side. The sky is blue with a couple small, fluffy white clouds. The river and river bank are lush, deep green. The sky is blue. There are electricity pylons in the distance, juxtaposing the peaceful river scene with the nearby urban infrastructure.

Congratulations to our Arts and Humanities graduands today! Campus is buzzing with music and excitement, and lots of fluttering black robes.

I am quite happy with my pleasing pot of spring weeds today.
Dull fence at the back, with some sad looking bamboo in front. In the same pot is a tall stained glass sunbather (oranges, ref, and yellows). The pot is filled with daisies and dandelions looking healthy.

mine is a Joanie collaboration with the Natural History Museum-- I don't think they are still selling it, though they have other dino prints.

The herbal displays from the Royal College of Physicians talk tonight... They are currently being switched around by the head gardener. And I have heard that the c17 almond milk that is being prepared tastes "lovely". #HistMed #HistFood
