It was only temporary but for a while he had to disguise himself as an elf during his training with his master Folred. The cape basically converted his features into the other race as an illusion. As an elf kid he got entirely different treatment compared to a gnoll and it took its toll on him

Character sheet of Garoth, a captain of the city guard of Harfu who’s also the leader of a cult who worship Bane, the god of war and conquest. Their aim is to eradicate all races on the Continent except for humans, starting with gnolls who Garoth despises most after clan Mangrove raided their village, killing everyone except him when he was a boy. He swore to take revenge on Ynoh, the clan’s leader. On the sheet you see a lean man with a charismatic stance, one gloved hand on his chest while the other is hidden behind his back. He wears dark blue and brown leather armor with chainmail underneath, along with a darker cloak. His pants and boots are of similar dark colors of brown and black. He short blonde hair, moustache and a goatee, his complexion is pale and his eyes are light blue. Headshot of Ynoh the Protector, my gnoll character’s mom. She’s the matriarch of clan Mangrove. In the campaign’s present she’s 52, her expression showcasing that her heart grew much colder since she lost both her husband and her son to humans, even though she tried to tolerate them despite her skepticism. The two haven’t heard of eachother in 17 years so meeting her will definitely be a strong one. 😭😭 Headshot of Yeet’s father, Xeth Dreckgrin. He was a ranger of clan Mangrove and the matriarch’s second-in-command husband. He was altogether tolerant of other races and wanted to build safer circumstances for gnolls in the Continent, even if his efforts weren’t much on the larger scale. He couldn’t wait for his son to be born, he often dreamed of them getting to play around and him teaching Yeet everything he knew of the world, but this never became reality. He was killed by a group of greenhorn adventurers, who managed to aim right at his heart. When one of them looted his body, they found a handmade little figure in his satchel, which he made for Yeet. Yeet from the time he was training with his elven master, Folred Greymore. He’s disturbed and heavily angered by something, shaking and growling at someone while Folred’s arm’s holding him close, with a strong hand put on his shoulder.
