update - and none between 27.3-15.4.25 - but R 58 Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA - Gestapo, SD, Kripo) just added over 2000 files, now 8.434 out of 10.090 catalogued files.

One of the few remaining Holocaust denier authors 'Thomas Dalton' was inadvertently outed by Kevin Barrett as David Skrbina, a philosophy lecturer who has corresponded with the Unabomber and argued Jesus was a mythical figure.

Given Germar Rudolf's previous conviction for indecent exposure in his former home town of Red Lion, PA, the classic contrast between cock-up theory and conspiracy theory seems a little too... I was going to say close to the bone, but the double entendres need to stop.

Am intensely curious as to what got the leading Holocaust 'revisionist' arrested this time.

Now this is more like it. Today's Bundesarchiv update added +3258 files from 10-12.12.24 - 3005 of which come from NS 19 Persönlicher Stab Reichsführer-SS. Due to repeat links, there are 4632 hits to the 4317 files of the Bestand. Complete? Hopefully!

A year ago the Bundesarchiv had digitised 405.825 files; as of 7.12.24 they hit 4.006.123 files. Over 830,000 are from the Deutsche Dienststelle and barred from the internet, but today's update included 757 files, 3/4s, of BArch RS 4 (SS-Reiterverbände and other units).

Berlin-Lichterfelde might be redeeming themselves after several years of agonisingly slow updates, with another +498 files/links added within NS 19 Persönlicher Stab Reichsführer-SS at the Bundesarchiv - if they keep it up it'll all be over by Xmas for Uncle Heinrich's papers 🤓

Finally a sensible update from Berlin-Lichterfelde at the Bundesarchiv - up to 415 files (some cross-posted) added to NS 19 Persönlicher Stab Reichsführer-SS. Still barely a quarter of the way through, but how much better to get a lot of files in one Bestand in one go.

Going by a quick scroll down a search result at the other place: German Twitter seems to be throwing a party at the news of the death of 'Nazi granny' Ursula Haverbeck at 96. English X is mourning the passing of a Holocaust denier. Evidently Germans did not decamp en masse to Bsky last week...

I successfully diluted the percentage of my Bluesky feed that was dedicated to sharing grim news stories of the present by following lots of historians who are dedicated to sharing grim news stories of the past.
