9,5% of people have beaten the 4th Pantheon. I don't think it's that small of a percentage. 5,1% have beaten the 5th... and if they balanced around the 5th, then I would agree with you, because nothing from Silksong is more brutal than it (yet).
Try Multibinder with Warding Bell. It's really good.

One thing that I did was changing my crest to what I thought would be best, specially between Hunter, Reaper and Wanderer.
And always make sure to make use of my silk skills (which I noticed many people save a lot to heal). Enough silk to heal and use a skill? Just use it! Helps a lot with damage.

They probably balanced the game around people that completed Pantheon 4. I think it's fine. I disagree about the enemy damage (except in the early game, which is kinda too linear and I don't think you can avoid certain bosses).
Exploring is usually the answer for any challenge. 1/2

I loved the difficult and can't wait the game to throw more super difficulties things at me. The only thing that really gave me trouble was Groal. 40 deaths and I just decided: "Yeah, I will be back later."
I don't remember anyone complaining about the 2 damage on the first game. Only new players.
