There is a lot of chaos right now. Check on your neighbors especially those who depend on government agencies for help. Share what you have until things settle down again.

Does anybody know if the President is going to dismantle the IRS for this 2024 tax season filing? Asking for a friend who may not need to buy TurboTax after all.

Now this is telling...The new administration’s decision to shut down the border agency’s app, CBP One, allowing asylum seekers who had not yet crossed into U.S. territory to make appointments at legal ports of entry. Migrants learning that “existing appointments have been canceled.”

People! People! People! You have to calm down. We have to figure out what to hoard on a day to day basis. Today, it was almost coffee. What will tomorrow bring? BTW - Trade works both ways. He got some midwest farmers wondering what they will do with all the corn they sell to Columbia!

FEMA does not have enough funding (cost), it takes too much time to rebuild and restore, and the Scope of "Fix Everything" is too broad. So lets think about what the Federal Government excels at and let FEMA do that and then go home and leave it to the states to finish.

There are three elements of any project and FEMA always deals with Big A** Projects after a natural disaster: Scope, Cost and Time. People have the wrong idea about FEMA. Come in, "fix everything" - they can't because there are too many natural disasters happening.

The President-elect is preparing nearly 100 executive orders for his return to office, a senator said. I bet a lot of them are to undo whatever President Biden and President Obama did in 4 years.

The purpose of free speech is is so the truth gets out there. If the free speech is not true...it has no purpose.

California has the nation's largest economy with a gross state product of $4.132 trillion as of Q3 2024. It would rank 5th globally by nominal GDP. Gavin doesn't need their "stinking money." He just needs to hold on what they generate until Washington gets their heads out of their a**es.

Canada and Greenland...Nah! This week I’d say he’s trying to hide news about Rudy’s court issues which reflect back on him, his own sentencing on Friday, and any press coverage of Pres Carter’s funeral and legacy. Don’t fall for the misdirection - it is a key strategy.

President Biden didn't leave you with no money in FEMA. The House of Representative allocates funding - you remember right, Mike Johnson, a Republican is the leader.

Today, that number has been reduced by more than 99.99%. The Carter Foundation reduced that - 3.5 million cases in at least 21 countries in Africa and Asia to seven (7) total confirmed cases. RIP Jimmy and Roslyn Carter. WE ❤️‍ you!

I believe that in the world, there should be no "preventable blindness." So did Jimmy and Roslyn Carter. When The Carter Center began leading the international campaign to eradicate Guinea worm disease in 1986, there were an estimated 3.5 million cases in at least 21 countries in Africa and Asia.

I was reading Vox this morning - an article about how to lead a more balanced life. One way was "Don't go looking for news that makes you enraged." Consume just enough where you feel informed and avoid falling prey to rage bait on social media. I had already decided to do that. How about you?

Everyone is talking like this new Department is a sure thing but the “Department of Government Efficiency” will have to be approved by Congress. Just sayin'...

Has anyone been watching what is happening with the H5N1 bird flu? Will the H5N1 bird flu become an honest-to-god pandemic? More than 40 million chickens and turkeys were killed in the poultry industry’s H5N1 bird flu outbreak. And now it is being found in dairy cows. Yikes!

We had our chance to fix it all and we fixed some.... The world is in the hands of people younger than us/me. I think we need may to keep a log for a few days and see how much we are ingesting of this crap. I don't think it is good for us - anxiety for nothing. What do you think?

But that news was like USA Today News read by someone you didn't know. You know we lived like "Okay, I voted so go do that politician stuff. keep us out of wars and stop raising taxes. So why do we spend so much time at this point in our lives - on this??
December 11, 2024 at 12:13 AM
You know we watched, in the evening like everyone else. That's why when someone says "Walter Cronkite" there is a little nod of the head in most people our age. I remember when Ted Turner put on 24 hr news. I traveled a lot for work - watch news while waiting for a connecting flight.
December 11, 2024 at 12:12 AM
Do you every get weary of all politics??...The news media constantly bombarding you with political news. Not necessarily to inform but to incite rage against the political machine. What they want you to think......Seriously when I was working, I didn't have time to watch this much news

BTW - this agreement was signed in the President Elect's first term by him - 2020. And I quote "The USMCA is the largest, most significant, modern, and balanced trade agreement in history. All of our countries will benefit greatly." Donald J. Trump
