I agree, too, and I wonder how many of us agree vs how many don’t agree. TikTok came back online but with a note about thanking President Trump - hamfisted propaganda in its entirety. Democracy still has hope, but given the current social media climate, I wonder for how long.

When I used to live in a downtown urban area in in U.S. there was a polar vortex one winter with wind chill -40 degrees…but the pigeons were just out on the sidewalks per usual. I admired their ruggedness.

All forms of disability (or even mere discomfort) can cut us off from what we wish to do with our lives. I’ve experienced some of this, but my path is not identical to anyone else’s. I’ve found Buddhism and the internet spaces for it. Sounds like you’ve found the Tao. I wish you the best my friend.

This is one of the biggest crimes of the modern age in medicine/society. They do this to trans people and also to people with various disabilities they find “unworthy” - just another part of why protecting our rights is so important.

…and practices it as taught, or wherever a volume of the sutra is kept, whether in a garden, or in a woods, or under a tree, or in a monk’s cell or a layman’s house, or in a palace, or in a mountain valley or an open field, in all these places you should put up a stupa and make offerings.. (2/3)

Hello friend 🙏 I’m familiar with Stephen Bachelor and I have one of his books, but I haven’t read it yet. It’s Buddhism Without Beliefs. It’s probably obvious from my feed that I *do* have Buddhism with beliefs, but I am interested in what he has to say. I like to investigate opposing perspectives.

I think this is a problem all over the internet (or maybe just generally). I have a feed set up for every post that mentions zen, and literally less than 10% of it actually concerns zen.

I’m not sure what your exact goal of finding a temple would be, but would you be open to a temple that has hybrid in-person/online services and dharma talks/discussions? Drukpa Kagyu sanghas like this exist
