In marking the Transgender Day of Remembrance last week, Rev Cathy Bird from Union Chapel confronted ‘texts of terror’ - those parts of the Bible that may make us most uncomfortable - in order to read between the lines, or right upon them, and find God’s love, mercy & justice #transdayofremembrance

At yesterday's 11am service, we heard from Rev David Hardman, Methodist Liaison Officer in Jerusalem. In his sermon, David reflected on the newly released Kairos Palestine document, urging us toward truthful witness and acts of solidarity as members of one body - even when it might feel costly.

At yesterday's All Saints service, we remembered people from the Hinde Street community who have passed away in the last year. Many of us lit candles in remembrance & thanksgiving for people we love who have died.

We give thanks for their lives and love.

This Sunday 26/10, we came together to celebrate #Harvest - a time to give thanks for God’s creation and reflect on our responsibility to care for it. This year, we once again collected donations of food & other essentials on behalf of Euston Foodbank. A huge thanks to you all for your generosity!

Happy #pride to all!

This year, Hinde Street was glad to be supporting Pride in London together with our friends from Wesley's Chapel & Leysian Mission!

The following day, we continued to mark this year’s Pride month at our special Sunday Service with guest preacher David Warren.

At our #Pentecost service, we took a moment to appreciate how we each offer what we can to the life of the church. We also prayed for God to change the hearts of those in leadership so that they may work for Peace and the good of their people, and for God to change our hearts too.

What can we do in the face of media, news and government policies which seem to be reversing the gospel values we cherish, such as valuing diversity, fighting discrimination, and treating everyone with equity?

At the Sunday service on May 18th, we shared these ideas... do you have more?

Yesterday we held one of our informal Café Church services and prayed for peace and justice.

"We pray for the justice which would enable peace, and praying for a will for justice which may cost people in power. We pray for people bereaved and for strength to carry on."

For an amazing 39 years, Hinde Street has been linked with fellow Methodists at Kreuzkirche in Leipzig, Germany. Every few years we have visited in either direction, staying in each others’ homes - and last weekend, it was our turn to host. Thanks to all who participated in this wonderful weekend!

You are warmly welcome to our 11am Palm Sunday service this week! We will be handing out traditional palm crosses and remembering Christ's arrival in Jerusalem.
