I wheeled her into our local SSA office so she could start collecting her SSA early. This was a lifeline for her. The kind and professional worker was able to understand her story and my mother was able to look him in the eyes as she spoke.2/3

This is insanely cruel!! Several years ago my mother was run over by a pickup truck while sitting at a pool. She was a single mom waitress and later in life school cafeteria worker. 1/3
