Typst looks very promising, but I think I will stick to LaTeX until a smoother transition becomes available. I need some official Typst-version of "texreg" package in R to migrate.

I just migrated my website to Quarto. So far, it is amazing. Finally, I can write posts on my site with ease.

News from #ASSA2025: There are only about 30 Black economists who received their PhDs after 2006 in economics departments. The share of economists who are Black has remained at 3% over the last 15+ years. The share of economists who are Hispanic has increased to 6% from 4% over the same timespan.

It was a pleasure to present my working paper “The China Shock and Internal Migration” and attend other presentations at Midwest Trade Conference, Georgia Tech! I also enjoyed all the great scholars I met there. Hope to see them all soon. For now, get busy with PhD applications!

My first paper “The Well-being of Cities: Estimating Migration Attractiveness from Internal Migration across Korean Cities” just got accepted at Global Economic Review. As a busy Master student applying for 2024 fall Ph.D, I am glad to hear such nice news on the way. #econsky
