Uber is killing the taxi industry here in Canada, and probably everywhere. They're drastically reducing the cost of labour. I'd say immigrants are being used to do so; hence the backlash against them.

As a person that was born in Canada, I've never had to look into it. Being banned in the US because of a minor possession conviction, I have looked into enabling re-entry there. Now I don't have any desire to do so, until Trump and his cohorts are gone.

My brother Mike wrote a letter warning about that dump in 1995 to every level of government. He was quickly sued for $25 million, and a court injunction was ordered to prevent publication of it. Not many people have read that letter.
