TBF, he didn't earn it either... too much drone strikes and military operations with civilian casualties. Those should be automatically disqualifying things. You shouldn't be eligible for peace prize if you are a leader of a country that's at war.

To me it seems like this has been the plan all along for the conservative right, to slowly get people adjusted to the idea that the pledge of allegiance at school is normal and good. Not to mention the "debate" of whether evolution is a thing or not.

Looking at the USA now, it sure seems like there has been a slow but steady building up of the idea. I mean, for a western nation the flag worship and nationalism is really weird for us outsiders, and the religiosity is borderline more medieval than modern around the bible belt.
