Yes water cooling for eg work places increasingly common.

Heat pumps are air conditioning (reverse cycle :-) Every one shutters their apartments in daytime, in addition to fans. Many buildings have passive cooling systems/pumped water systems (Swiss cities are often beside lakes and rivers). We need to think long term about efficient cooling systems.

Agreed. And plenty of lived experience of Geneva heat. But concerned that the jump is made to air con as ‘the solution’ to cooling without considering other less energy intensive options. Also air con is not allowed in Switzerland….

What about ceiling fans? They worked well for me in Geneva.
