If you work in #technology, add Cory Doctorow's #Enshittification to your list of books to read/listen to. The audio book version is excellent 👍. Having been part of this industry since the 1990s it is depressing, though.

We were at the #NoKings / #NoDictators protests in #Kona #Hawaii today. Despite some heavy rain, 1500 people came (official estimate). It was easily the biggest protest we have witnessed in Kona in 10 years!! It was the last protest in the nation. #Democracy #Freedom

The Tibetan one is hilarious. When I ask "Tell me about the Tibetans", DeepSeek starts giving me a very detailed answer but while printing out the answer, DeepSeek "crashes" eventually when touching on the "political situation", and deletes the entire output. The output is then followed by:

It is fascinating to travel from #Hawaii to the #Azores and see some familiar invasive species of plants such as Hedychium gardnerianum (Kahili ginger) and Tetrapanax papyrifer (Rice-paper plant). Another invasive that you may encounter on #SaoMiguel is Gunnera tinctoria.

You haven't truly arrived on the #BigIsland of #Hawaii unless you have beaten your Toyota Tacoma (4WD is required) across the entire length of Mana Rd halfway around #MaunaKea + visiting the memorial of famed #Botanist David Douglas (yes, THE Douglas Fir guy 🙂). Made the (bumpy) ride in 4h sharp.

It looks like @zdfde.bsky.social does a hardcore block of every country except Germany 🇩🇪, Switzerland 🇨🇭, Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 and Austria 🇦🇹. Even Luxembourg 🇱🇺 and Belgium 🇧🇪 are blocked 🤡. They don't seem to like the EU 🇪🇺 or even all countries with a significant German-speaking population any longer 😞.
