Doting grandmother, among other things.
These two are longtime friends, and I love that one of their conversations was captured for Chelsea's new podcast, "That Can't Be True."

Listen as they talk about how state leaders like @iamwesmoore.bsky.social are stepping up to help citizens in this moment. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

To all those serving, to all who have served: Your duty and sacrifice don't just represent the best of America. You make America possible as the land of the free and the home of the brave, aspiring always to be a light for democracy around the world. Thank you.

There will be so many things to say about the legendary Nancy Pelosi's transformational tenure in Congress—but for now, let's start with "Thank you, Madam Speaker."

Good morning to these future governors!

This is the president of the United States taking a break from gold-and-marble interior renovations to say he’ll defy a court order to feed hungry Americans.

Nero would be proud.

The unthinkable has happened. Through generations of service under administrations from both parties, America's food assistance program has never been allowed to fail U.S. families—until today, and this Trump shutdown.
November 1, 2025 at 5:42 PM
One in eight Americans will struggle to put food on the table if the Trump shutdown extends through next week.

Yet Republicans in Congress are nowhere to be found.

Tell them it's time to clock back in—because they work for us:

The government may be shut down, but Trump is still managing to get some work done in Washington—like illegally demolishing an entire wing of the White House to build himself a ballroom.

Lifting a finger to lower your health care costs?

Not so much.

It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.

He's definitely not mad that 7 million Americans came out to protest him yesterday....

One of the most inspiring days of the year for me is when I get to present the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security's annual Hillary Rodham Clinton Awards to honorees from around the world who are working to safeguard democracy, sometimes at tremendous personal risk.

Yesterday: Trump bragged, "We took the freedom of speech away."

Today: New reporting on Trump's plans to go after opposition groups.

In 9 days: We mount the largest peaceful protest in modern history to say, loud and clear, that America has no king.

This is good news. It would be even better if Trump wasn't torpedoing the U.S. solar and wind industry and ceding the energy future to China. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Children around the world have died because Trump and Musk needlessly destroyed USAID. These are some of their stories.

For over 60 years, Jane Goodall was a force for research about our precious planet—and climate change action to protect it—while breaking glass ceilings along the way.

I'll so miss her courage and commitment to help expand what we know about our world and preserve it for the generations to come.

Look at that huge jump in Trump's wealth in 2025.

Americans can't afford groceries or health care.

But the Trump presidency is working out great for Donald Trump.

Imagine if Richard Nixon had just tweeted out the Watergate scandal rather than putting it on secret tapes.

That’s what this is.

Congratulations to my friend Randi Weingarten on the launch of Why Fascists Fear Teachers.

From banning books to controlling curriculum, authoritarians go after public education because it's a cornerstone of democracy. Randi's book is a critical read for this moment. sites.prh.com/whyfascistsf...

As Americans and as New Yorkers, we'll never forget September 11, 2001. First responders sacrificed everything in the course of their service. Strangers saved each other's lives. The worst day brought out the best in so many.

I'm thinking of everyone mourning, and remembering, today.
