I really do believe that the growth if single women in their 40s becoming first time moms point to a very feminist partial mitigation strategy that neither the left or right (for obvious reasons) wants to notice

Came here to say the same thing

Yep, and a huge chunk of that is for alfalfa, of all the low value things, which then gets largely exported
As a city dwelling Californian this never ceases to infuriate me

I grew up in a *very* libertarian milieu so this tension/awareness is always in the back of my mind re:regulation However, imo Warren’s argument that billionaires pose an existential risk to democratic gov is also highly persuasive (look at the role of Musk et al in Trump 2.0)

A unit in my condo was remodeling & between a ton of inspections that required building wide fire alarm tests?? & accidentally setting it off it went of once or twice a week for over 3 months and I thought I would lose my mind. If I had to deal w/what you describe it would be my entire personality

That’s just hell. My condolences

I really feel like fire alarm tests are a much larger driver of the preference for single family housing than a lot of the “yes dense housing!” Crowd acknowledge. They were 100% the worst part of living a condo

Look, I’m a yimby but as a Californian I would *not* want to swap CA’s building code for, say, Texas’s for example. And I suspect the feeling is pretty mutual

Ok, but if it isn’t ai someone tell me how it is that the spoon handle is poking through the lid (as it would sit in a bowl without a lid) BEFORE he removes the lid?? Then when the lid is placed on the table it is solid (no random spoon handle hole which ofc there isn’t a hole in the lid!

It’s too fast. His speech isn’t that fast Typically he gets either tangled or charmed by a line in the script & then repeats it; either to correct pronunciation or emphasize He never repeats anything in this video He never “hams it up” on any of the words that he typically would His face is too thin

That is so f-ing bleak and I hadn’t thought of it like that before but I think you’re right 😩

So true, but I’m still holding on to the fantasy that AI bubble go pop means Open AI goes pop

I had entirely forgotten those existed and then your picture gave me a nostalgic flashback. I read so many of those! Thank you

I feel like “firmest belief” is probably a situationally emergent discovery
November 6, 2025 at 4:21 AM
Thank you! I will read it.

It seems the default family photo session contract these days gives the photographer the right to use photos on social for advertising, etc. Twice I’ve (successfully) requested a modification to the contract before signing but I’ve never been charged extra for it.
