Just one day old and already out for a swim.
(This is at Volkspark Hasenheide, for all the swan fans out there.)

Shout out to whoever modified the decal on the MILES share car that just drove by. I'm no car fan but I can get behind MILFS.

Arabic family behind me in the supermarket line was buying Edeka-brand hummus and I wanted to be like... Are you sure about this??

We need to talk about something very important: Why isn’t IKEA selling those delightful ginger biscuits anymore?

Cat update: we found the owner, who lives just next door. But Charlie's made himself at home in our Hof and doesn't want to leave 🐱
March 4, 2025 at 1:01 AM
Anyone in 12049 Neukölln recognize this cat? It's been hiding in our Hof for 3-4 days. He/she is getting food and water from a neighbour but wants to go home. Please RT!

Germans have a unique obsession with Francophone Canada and I'd really like to know why. Upon learning I'm from Canada, 7 out of 10 Germans will ask, "The French part?" with a glimmer of hope in their eyes.

My 10-year-old beast of a laptop had been stuttering and crashing so often, I thought I'd finally have to upgrade. Then I realized Adobe Acrobat Reader was running constant updates that can't be disabled. Deleted the program and suddenly my laptop runs just fine.

Hmmm...

You can tell a lot about a people & their culture by the snacks they travel with. I'll always fondly remember the woman who slowly and meticulously consumed an entire raw kohlrabi on a train ride through Bavaria.

Annual reminder to pet owners in Germany that probably the only way to have a peacefully fireworks-free NYE is to spring for a night in an airport hotel.

Ban on exploding shit ✅
Fair distance from city ✅
Soundproofed windows ✅
Terrible TV; minibar Sekt; fluffy towels ✅

Germany + fireworks = a clear case of collective insanity
March 4, 2025 at 1:06 AM
I hate fireworks with a burning passion. Pointless explosions 24/7, for days on end, reduce my dog to a quivering mess.
He’s old and has a heart condition so this terror is literally life-threatening. But sure, boys—because it is always boys—go ahead and have your stupid fun.

Guess I'm a shopping influencer now because I can't wait to tell you about the hottest new accessory for Winter 22/23!
Two-in-one flu/Covid tests, just €2.25 at a DM near you!

Perhaps rewatching Home Alone has made me paranoid, but the cleaners came yesterday (on Christmas Eve??) to mop the stairwells and propped up all the doormats (which they usually never do).

Anyway, I guess my neighbours are getting burgled for Christmas.

Baking from American recipes be like:
-2 sticks butter
-juice of 3 3/4 medium to medium-largeish oranges
-melted chocolate, 7/8 of a cup minus one Tablespoon
-1 3/13 cup graham cracker crumbs (guess how many graham crackers)

Christmas on a weekend sucks. Vibes totally off

Dear supermarkets of Germany: I just want enough kale to make soup, not to stuff a whole dang mattress.

What’s Lana Del Rey doing at the #FIFAWorldCup awards ceremony?
March 4, 2025 at 1:11 AM
The only real reason I’ll watch football is to see grown men crying happy tears and for that Argentina does not disappoint!! #ARGFRA #FIFAWorldCup

When there's a winter energy crisis and your moms won't turn the heating up
March 4, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Just remembered a dream I had last night, in which I finally pulled off that seemingly impossible switch from side part to center part.
March 4, 2025 at 1:11 AM
The sun has cracked through the dark glum abyss of the Berlin winter for the first time in probably weeks and it’s got my old geezer of a dog doing ecstatic zoomies around the house.
March 4, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Hardly anyone in my neighbourhood has put up Christmas lights. Just one of the many consequences of this energy crisis winter.
