Calendar says it's three weeks past the end of berry-picking season ... but the blackcurrants and haskaps (and even a few delightfully stubborn raspberries) disagree!
Three buckets half-full of fresh-picked berries: Bright red raspberries in one, handfuls of sweet blue haskaps in another, and a whole lot of shiny blackcurrants in the third.

Well, I was TRYING to take a reference photo for drawing ... I can't tell if this means that my favourite four-legged art critic approves of the composition, or thinks it needs a more dynamic element!

Well, chalk that up as a brand-new life experience - timed, competitive 20-minute painting in front of an audience!

Joining the YXE Urban Games art battles was *spectacularly* fun ... can't wait to try something like this again in the future 🎨 🖌️ 🎉
Julia is in the middle of working on their 'Art Battle' painting, a birch tree with a tire swing hanging off of one branch the entire painting is in black and white except for the middle of the tire swing, which is full of leaves and flowers.

Three months ago, I started drawing for fun every day ... and I can't wait to see what I'll be able to do three months from now!

How it started: How it's going:

Compared to the previous drawing, it has much more detail; the shape is less stylised and more realistic, there are more light and shadow details, more blues and yellows among the reds to give shape and depth to the blossoming petals.
