One of my bigger pet peeves to be sure. Same people who send one entire text message per half-sentence and blow up your inbox with 7 nearly-incoherent texts instead of just one short paragraph.

I entered with a children’s chapter book about the adventures of an immortal French cat and the American little girl living abroad he befriends and tells stories from his long and often whimsical life. It’s meant to be the first in a series!

Ah, got it. The post just reminded me of so many of my college classmates who spent all their free time swiping on apps and being sad, and I just couldn’t understand why they were doing it that way, lol.

That’s the only reason I felt compelled to toss in my two cents. Glad you’re doing well.

Could always meet people the old fashioned way, go places and do stuff you like, find someone who you click with. Or, if you wanted to get more strategic about it, figure out what specific interests/places would attract your ideal person and go seek them out that way.

Definitely tells you who NOT to work with in the future though.

I thought about it, but like, it sorta feels like witnessing your cousin stealing from a church collection plate vibe. Like, you’re torn between the likelihood that extended family will just accuse you of tattling and not care about the ethics violation vs the imperative to call out someone’s BS.

Yup. That one is super common unfortunately. At one point, I looked through the list of “execs” & “producers” on VPF (virtual pitch fest) and facepalmed when I recognized the names of FOUR different former film school classmates who I knew for a fact were just assistants or interns!

The last TV show I watched was The Outer Limits episode “The Invisibles,” so I guess it’d either be a bunch puppet master style space aliens or the government agents that were trying to stop them.
