Nixpkgs is very big but I also often find that lots of stuff has community maintained flakes, it’s just a little more involved to install those than a central repository. You will probably encounter something not packaged one day, but learning to do it yourself can be kinda fun

I love NixOS’ update method. Being able to rollback my package versions instantly instead of stressing over a broken update is nice for peace of mind

That is what I would do, but I have encountered people who say they’d rather have this because streaming quality won’t be quite as good as natively running it. And honestly, if I had lots of disposable income I would probably get one for that reason

The thing is that the operating system on the frame doesn’t restrict you in any way. The best experience is with steamvr, but there’s nothing stopping you from doing whatever else you want

It is straight up just an upgrade over the quest 3 made by a company that actually cares about its customers. I’m definitely selling my quest 3 for it (unless it is super expensive, but supposedly they’re shooting for less than the index)
