Chapter 4: Goldenleaf, The Wings She Carries
The voice lured her into the outskirts of town, towards a lakebed that reflected the moon like glass. The whining sound that hung over Goldenleaf couldn’t reach here, replaced by the chirping of crickets and an occasional lap of water against the shore. Drawing closer, the shape of a small figure sitting beside the lake came into view. The figure’s scales were a pale manifestation of moonlight. As she sang, her body swayed in tempo. “With hearts of merry, and claws of gold They welcome you, they cherish you With hearts of merry, and claws of gold To the glorious kingdom of skies.”

"Entering the room was a massively built Sky Dragon with auburn scales. She was adorned with golden rings around her horns and rubies embedded along the spines of her wings. Her face was painted with strokes of scarlet that faded into mere dots surrounding her infuriated amber eyes. A vibrant glow emanated from her chest, radiating enough heat to fill the room..."

A breeze sent the leaves into a roaring applause around them, brushing away the heat of the sun and enveloping them in the scent of damp soil, vanilla and honey.
