And it’s worth it when Sanji gently cups his head, pulling him into a soft kiss with gratitudes and “love yous” murmured against each other’s lips.

Their relationship is special— they take care of each other in a way that noone else ever could.

And they wouldn’t change a thing.

So sure, Zoro may not have his near daily occurrence of napping in the galley himself that day but it’s all worth it when Sanji slowly wakes up, bleary eyed, and with Zoro’s hand carding through his hair. It’s worth it to see the soft sleepy smile adorning Sanji’s beautiful face.

Finally, he prides himself knowing that he’s safe for Sanji. That for once in his life Sanji can relax knowing that Zoro is there and he’ll keep him and the crew safe.

It took a while to get there but now Zoro relishes in the fact that he gets to see Sanji’s vulnerable side.

Sanji trusts him not to waste any food. Sure it took a while of watching the cook, well, cook, and a bit of hands on experience while being coached, but he now knows how to deal with all the scraps to make them usable for Sanji in the future.

This is something that Zoro takes great pride for a few reasons:

Sanji’s beginning to ask for help when he needs it— something that he’s been working on.

Zoro’s being trusted to look after the crew (which is one of the only things Sanji does pride himself on), in Sanji’s stead.
