yeah, i’m stoked to see wayland on nvidia! need wayland for fractional scaling, which i need for my 4k monitor. i find wayland+gaming doesn’t mix nicely, cursor escaping, resolution and display weirdness, etc, but heard gamescope fixes this. doesn’t work well on nvidia, but hope it keeps improving!

maybe i’ve gotten lucky, i’m sure it’s a ‘your mileage may vary’ scenario, but my mileage has been pretty good so far, and i’m no stranger to screwing around with my os, so i’ll keep pushing my luck lol

also i just hope that big companies see people like me avoiding w11 and develop more for linux 🫠

as for optimizations, i haven’t noticed anything run slower on 21h2. if anything, things are running smoother than ever. im no longer having daily crashes/freezes with explorer and smb shares, which was my biggest w11 frustration, and i know im not alone in having problems with w11 explorer.

i 1000% want to fully switch to linux (i dual boot fedora), but it just hasn’t worked out for me. i blame my nvidia gpu for that, will go amd next time.

i’ve yet to run into any incompatibilities yet, so im probably gonna stick with it until i run into something both 21h2 and fedora don’t support.

ah yeah those both sound like they could do it! actually just yesterday, i had a really unstable laptop that fixed itself a bit when i replaced the cmos battery lol

having that happen after enabling xmp makes me think it could be a bad stick of ram, very similar to when that happened to me, things were weird before but even weirder after enabling xmp.

you could try memtest86 to see if it is in fact ram related
