True. the leadership challenge to Starmer is very telling imho. Seems like there's a systematic attempt to undermine the Labour govt perhaps to further benefit Reform and co.

tbh the whole Blairite/Neoliberal wing of the Labour party needs to take a backseat. The last thing the UK needs is more neoliberal nonsense; that is what has left the UK in this sorry state in the first place.

Neoliberalism (whether it was 80s Thatcherism or post-2010 Austerity) hasn't worked and will never work. It's a reckless, irresponsible fantasy that we can no longer afford to entertain. Time to wise up and start enacting realistic economic policy that's going to get the UK back on track.

I do think Rachel Reeves needs to go though. I think she has lost the confidence of the wider public to lead economic policy. I also think the UK needs to abandon this neoliberal orthodoxy that it has had since the late 70s. It's over. It hasn't worked. It has wrecked havoc on the UK.

I'm mixed on this - I think Starmer has been underwhelming but I also thing a leadership change would only make things worse. Also, regardless of who leads the government, the UK economy is a mess. They need to get on with it and start rebuilding the economy.
